Welcome to Crucible Recording


The Crucible is a multi-channel digital recording studio nestled in beautiful Eldorado Springs, CO, a scenic 15 minute drive from downtown Boulder, or an easy 25 minutes from Denver.  Built from the ground up in 2001, The Crucible boasts a floating tracking room, an Amek Big mixing console, a 128 channel Pro Tools TDM Mix Cube system featuring Wadia and Otari Radar II 24 analog to digital converters, a Lucid GenX 96 time clock and a 32 channel Pro Control mixing surface. 

Top of the line Green Range Focusrite (Rupert Neve and George Martin designed), Red 3 and Grace preamps, Genelec, Yamaha, Grace and Sennheiser monitoring, six channels of Empirical Labs compressors and Waves L2 hardware limiters, Lexicon 960L reverb and  (4) Eventide Orville effect processors, Fender, Martin, Taylor, Modulus and G&L guitars and basses, Vox, Eden  and Ampeg amplifiers, DW drums, vintage Ludwig drums, vintage and modern keyboards including a 1956 Hammond B3, Wurlitzer, Fender Rhodes, Juno 60, Kurzweil K2600x, XV5080, and a plethora of microphones, including the astounding unmodified vintage tube Nuemann U47 combine with Eldorado Springs water and breath-taking views to create one of the world’s most spirited recording environments.
